O Reported Speech <\/strong>corresponde ao discurso indireto em portugu\u00eas. Usamos essa estrutura toda vez que queremos reproduzir a fala de outra pessoa, ou seja, quando vamos reportar o que j\u00e1 foi dito por algu\u00e9m.\u00a0Portanto, essa estrutura \u00e9 muito empregada para narrar hist\u00f3rias e fatos que j\u00e1 aconteceram.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Observe o exemplo:
Direct Speech\u00a0<\/span>(Discurso Direto):<\/em> I am not feeling well. (Eu n\u00e3o estou me sentindo bem.)<\/strong><\/span>
Reported Speech\u00a0<\/span>(Discurso Indireto): <\/em>He said that he wasn\u2019t feeling well. (Ele disse que n\u00e3o estava se sentindo bem.)<\/strong><\/span>


Para organizar a estrutura do Reported Speech<\/strong> corretamente, \u00e9 importante estar atento as mudan\u00e7as na estrutura verbal da frase assim como os pronomes e por vezes algumas express\u00f5es. Observe a seguir:<\/span><\/span>\n

  • Present Simple \u2192 Past Simple<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Present Continuous \u2192 Past Continuous<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Present Perfect \u2192 Past Perfect<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Past Simple \u2192 Past Perfect<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Will \u2192 Would<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Am\/Is\/Are Going to \u2192 Was\/Were Going to<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Should, Could, Must, Might e Would n\u00e3o mudam de forma.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
    Observe que a palavra that \u00e9 opcional no reported speech. Geralmente, os falantes da l\u00edngua inglesa usam a palavra nessas frases em situa\u00e7\u00f5es formais, e a deixam de fora em situa\u00e7\u00f5es informais.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

    “Said” e \u00a0“told” s\u00e3o formas no passado que utilizamos no discurso indireto. Embora ambos significam “disse”, eles s\u00e3o usados em situa\u00e7\u00f5es diferentes. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
    Say<\/strong><\/u>: quando n\u00f3s dizemos algo para algu\u00e9m, por exemplo: She said that I would study more.<\/strong>\u00a0(Ela disse que iria estudar mais.)<\/strong><\/span>. Tell<\/strong><\/u>: quando n\u00f3s dizemos a algu\u00e9m sobre algo e mencionamos com quem estamos falando. Nesse caso, faz se necess\u00e1rio o objeto (me, you, her, him, etc.)<\/em>, por exemplo: The profesor told her she\u00a0needed to study more.<\/strong> (O professor\u00a0disse a ela que ela\u00a0precisava estudar mais.).<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

    Em frases que apresentam sugest\u00f5es:
    a) o verbo que introduz o discurso indireto \u00e9 to suggest
    b) A forma let\u2019s \u00e9 alterada para we shoud.
    E.g.:\u00a0He said: \u201cLet\u2019s take her to the park\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 He suggested (that) we should take her to the park.<\/em><\/strong><\/span>

    Quando se relata uma pergunta, coloca-se a frase na forma afirmativa fazendo as devidas transforma\u00e7\u00f5es.
    E.g.: She said: Where is Bill? <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0She asked where Bill was. <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    \u00a0<\/div>\n
    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0He said: \u201cIs Mary here?\u201d <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0He asked if Mary was there.<\/strong><\/em><\/span>
